INDIA KAWASAKI HAS QUIETLY RAISED the price of the ZX-10R to 23.1 lakh, onroad Pune. But now, they have also added the harder-core ZX-10RR to the line-up. A total of 500 RRs are set to be made and India will have a limited allocation, so there’s a clock ticking if you want to book this 27.6 lakh (on-road Pune) machine – that is 4.5 lakh more than the ZX-10R.
The RR is just short of a homologation special but makes accommodations to allow the owner to rapidly convert it to full-on racebike. The engine gets DLC-coated tappets, reinforced crank and more.
The engine still makes 200PS and 113.5Nm but the revised design allows you to use high-life cams, for example. The racekit is not yet on sale in India and its installation will immediately render the RR non-street legal and warranty is voided. Also new are lighter new Marchesini wheels and the bidirectional quick shifter. No pillion seat or pegs are offered.
